Marc Focquet is a consultant surgeon at the Saint Elisabeth Hospital in Zottegem (near Ghent – Belgium).
He has qualified in medicine at the Catholic University of Louvain in 1979, where he also received his training in general surgery.
He has attended many national and international courses on laparoscopy and obesity surgery as laparoscopy and bariatric surgery is his particular field of interest.
Together with Dr Sonneville he created the Expertclinic of Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgery in Belgium to offer the patients the full range of advanced laparoscopy and weight loss surgery: gastric banding, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, redo – and revisional surgery.
