Dr Toon Sonneville
Qualifications: MD, FRBSS
Dr Sonneville , born in 1966 in Ghent graduated in medicine in 1991 at the University of Ghent.
He received his surgical training at the same University but also in Zottegem, Deinze and
Ghent.
Toon was a resident in Dendermonde ( Dr J. Himpens ) from 2000 till 2004 focused on bariatric surgery, and from 2004 till 2007 in Antwerp.
He was a also a resident in Beaujon Hospital in Paris for additional training in advanced hepatic and pancreatic surgery.
Dr Sonneville has performed more than 1000 laparoscopic gastric bypasses, sleeves and duodenal switches including redo-surgery and 300 laparoscopic adjustable bands and is an international invited teacher and speaker and has contributed to many articles and books.
He is the co-founder with Dr Focquet of the Expert clinic for Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgery in Belgium.
